Staff Report & Agenda Item Details
The City of Rowlett is a member of the GMRS regional radio consortium. The consortium’s participating cities currently leverage Motorola cybersecurity services that were originally scoped and priced in 2015. These services are now end‑of‑life. Motorola Solutions has provided an updated pricing and service proposal for Managed Detection and Response (MDR) and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) coverage for Rowlett’s consoles and RF infrastructure, along with an associated Notice to Proceed (NTP) for the seven‑year service term. Under the GMRS program rules, service activation requires all nine partner cities to issue their individual NTPs referencing Proposal 26‑214269, dated April 23, 2026. Assuming Council approval, the City of Rowlett will execute its Notice to Proceed, authorizing Motorola to begin onboarding and billing in accordance with the TX‑DIR‑CPO‑5433 contract and the project’s cost schedule.
