Julia Ruiz stated Pflugerville voters need to look at what ACC annexation would cost the community. Ms. Ruiz stated she supports education and helping students attend college but the city does not need another taxing district. Ms. Ruiz discussed who the tax would impact and stated there are other opportunities to support education. Juanita Aguirre stated she values education and wants to see young people have opportunities to succeed but is concerned about creating another permanent tax with ACC annexation. Ms. Aguirre discussed concerns about seniors with fixed incomes and stated there are ways for the community to assist students without raising taxes. Tina Lee stated she is the executive director of Circle of Hope Community Center and discussed the work of nonprofits providing food and resources to the community. Ms. Lee discussed the difficulty of finding and affording appropriate space, and asked council to help organizations navigate the process and partner with organizations.
