Mayor Weiss opened the item for discussion. Mr. Metayer discussed the review of the proposed resolution. Les Wall gave public comment stating AI does not understand human reasoning and the need for public trust. Mr. Wall stated any data that is allowed to go out is open and that staff cannot be replaced by AI. Mr. Wall stated AI can be a burden for public workers checking accuracy and stated he is glad it is being addressed. Mr. Coffman stated the goal is to create a framework to have something that will last through new technologies. Mr. Metayer discussed areas he would like more detail and discussion followed regarding the intent of the policy. Mr. Metayer stated there is a need for vendor information. Mr. Rogers stated audited information is needed. Mr. Coffman discussed a need for an advisory board. Discussion followed regarding the amount of time needed to review the policy and any changes. Ms. Ryan asked if there were expectations to approve the policy at this meeting. Mayor Pro Tem Holiday discussed priorities and staff time. Mayor Weiss stated the item is on the regular agenda with action for consideration.
