Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

9.AH. Annual Review and discussion of PolicyGKE (LOCAL): Business, Civic, and Youth Groups. GKE(LOCAL) satisfies the state law requirement for a board policy to allow a principal to provide a representative of a patriotic society an opportunity to speak to students during the school day. The policy must give the principal discretion over the date and time and allow the principal to limit the presentation to 10 minutes on a single school day. The statute requires the board to adopt the policy at the beginning of each school year, and it is our understanding that continuing implementation of a previously adopted policy would meet that requirement.
