Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

This request comes from SAISD to rezone the Central High school Campus. The factor driving this rezoning is the height of proposed new buildings and, since we currently do not have an institutional-style zoning district, City Staff has recommended the General Commercial (CG) zoning district for the campus. General Commercial currently does not have a height cap in place and if you consider the daily volume and the multitude of activities for this campus, general commercial seems to be the best fit, allowing all current and some potential future uses allowable by right.

The Planning Commission heard the case on August 17th and, with a vote of 6-0, recommended approval.
