Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

The City is committed to maintaining a reliable, efficient, and sustainable wastewater collection system that protects public health and provides uninterrupted utility service to the community. To support this commitment, staff is requesting authorization to purchase one (1) 2027 Isuzu NRR Diesel Pipehunter 7724 Pipe Jetter Truck for the Utility Division of the Public Works Department. A pipe jetter truck is an essential piece of equipment used to maintain and rehabilitate the City's wastewater collection system. The equipment uses high-pressure water to clear obstructions, remove grease and debris, cut and remove root intrusions, and prepare sewer lines for video inspection. The proposed vehicle will provide the Utility Division with additional capacity and a dependable, properly equipped vehicle to perform routine and emergency wastewater maintenance. The purchase will be made from Rush Truck Centers of Texas, L.P., through a BuyBoard cooperative purchasing contract, at a total cost not to exceed $193,609.35 .

Bastiat Liberty & Property Rights Analysis
