Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

This project includes a comprehensive condition assessment of the existing 48-inch water line from the Bud Ervin Water Treatment Plant to approximately the intersection of Pleasant Ridge Drive and N. Main Street. The project will evaluate inspection technologies, design two inspection access ports, and include bidding and contractor selection, construction of the inspection access ports, pipeline inspection, and preparation of a condition assessment report. The assessment will identify deficiencies and areas requiring repair, rehabilitation, or replacement and provide recommendations and cost estimates for future improvements based on the inspection findings. The requested funds are for design services with Kimley-Horn and Associates in the amount of $84,700.00, which includes a 10% contingency ($7,700.00) for potential design scope changes, and right-of-way, easement acquisition, and other miscellaneous services in the amount of $1,800.00, which includes a 15% contingency ($260.00), to prepare the project for public bidding and construction. The total requested project budget is $86,500.00. The Professional Services Contract is attached.
