Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

Second Reading and Public Hearing There were no speakers regarding this item at the August 4, 2026, City Council meeting. First Reading and Public Hearing At the July 7, 2026, City Council Worksession, staff and City Council discussed the occasional challenges presented when there are vehicles parked overnight at City facilities. In addition to safety concerns, parked vehicles can sometimes interfere with City setup for City events. There is no current regulation prohibiting overnight parking, and it can be challenging to require vehicles to move prior to an event or when safety concerns arise. City Council directed staff to move forward with an ordinance to address parking. If approved, the attached ordinance will prohibit overnight parking at specifically located facilities, details exclusions, and establishes a penalty for violation of the ordinance.
