Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

This item has been requested by Mayor Hubbard and Councilmember John Stanley. Residents and Town staff have identified recurring traffic congestion at the Country Club Road/Stacy Road intersection area, particularly during school peak periods, that affects access for residents on Old Stacy Road and response times for emergency services. This item proposes formation of an East Fairview Congestion Relief Task Force, coordinated with Collin County, Lovejoy ISD, and other regional partners as necessary, to study the corridor and bring recommendations back to Council, and to appoint Town representatives to serve on it.

Bastiat Liberty & Property Rights Analysis

This motion is scored as EXPANDS_GOVERNMENT (Impact Weight: 2.3/10). Under the Bastiat Liberty Watchdog Index, measures that increase tax rates or fee schedules, issue new debt or Certificates of Obligation, expand regulatory/zoning restrictions on private land use, or authorize unbudgeted spending expansions reduce an official's Freedom Score when voted YES (and reward dissenting NO votes).
