Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

This agenda item provides for a discussion of street names surrounding Heroes Park. Since no properties have addresses assigned to Cottage Lane or Terra Cotta Way, the proposed street name changes would have no impact on surrounding property owners. This provides a unique opportunity to rename the streets in a manner that thematically ties in to the new Heroes Park. Staff seeks feedback from the City Council on whether there is a desire to change street names and specific name preferences.

Bastiat Liberty & Property Rights Analysis

This motion is scored as EXPANDS_GOVERNMENT (Impact Weight: 2.0/10). Under the Bastiat Liberty Watchdog Index, measures that increase tax rates or fee schedules, issue new debt or Certificates of Obligation, expand regulatory/zoning restrictions on private land use, or authorize unbudgeted spending expansions reduce an official's Freedom Score when voted YES (and reward dissenting NO votes).
