Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

The City currently enforces a prohibition that restricts certain registered sex offenders from residing within 1,000 feet of locations where children commonly gather. These locations include, but are not limited to schools, parks, arcades, recreational facilities, daycares, and similar uses. The purpose is to enhance public safety by reducing the chances that repeat sexual offenders can harm others, especially children. This amendment aims to partner with property owner, deter future crimes, and protect vulnerable individuals by increasing awareness and oversight.
