The Board recessed for lunch at 11:55 a.m. The Board meeting was reconvened at 1:00 p.m. Middle Pecos GCD Minutes of April 15, 2014 Page 7 XI Discussion on MPGCD Rules regarding Well Spacing, Rule 13.5 Manager Weatherby feels there is nothing wrong with our current spacing rule. Would like the Board to consider changing the spacing requirements to discourage large-land owners from subdividing the property into small 10 acres tracts and having a non-exempt well on it that would create a cone of depression affecting the surrounding land owner. An example would be that you could not have a new non-exempt well on 10 acres or less. Or that, the limit would be 4 non-exempt wells on 640 acres. These are examples only. XII Discussion on MPGCD Rules reference 11.9.1(13) Manager Weatherby said he supports the idea that when water is exported from Pecos County, that the receiving area should have a Groundwater Conservation District. The regular meeting was recessed at 1:16 p.m.
