Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

The City of San Angelo Water Utilities Department recently requested rebids for the chemical purchase of Water Treatment Coagulant for the Water Production Plant for use in the treatment of potable water. The bid consisted of 1 item, Polyaluminum chloride, and respondents were to meet certain specifications and delivery requirements. The previous bid for this chemical purchase was rejected due to the only bidder having bid in pounds instead of gallons. Only one bid was received and met all criteria by Veolia ES Technical Solutions.

Bastiat Liberty & Property Rights Analysis

This motion is scored as EXPANDS_GOVERNMENT (Impact Weight: 5.0/10). Under the Bastiat Liberty Watchdog Index, measures that increase tax rates or fee schedules, issue new debt or Certificates of Obligation, expand regulatory/zoning restrictions on private land use, or authorize unbudgeted spending expansions reduce an official's Freedom Score when voted YES (and reward dissenting NO votes).
