Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

The Information Technology (IT) Department requires the ability to acquire professional services from Resource Data, Inc. and seeks an amendment to the original contract for these continued services in fiscal year 2027. The IT Department has provided for these services as budgeted and funded through the fiscal year 2027 Information Technology Plan Fund, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) fund, Water Utilities and the Abilene / Taylor County Emergency Communications District (ATCECD) Board of Managers fund. The IT Department requests the acquisition and amendment to the contract for professional services from Resource Data, Inc. in the not-to-exceed fiscal year 2027 total amount of $1,100,000. The acquisition of these services from Resource Data, Inc. via GSA Contract #GS-35F-0229S will be conducted following the City’s procurement processes within this not-to-exceed amount. The approximately $100,000 increase over last year is predominately due to: - A need to work on past addressing errors in the District that has not been previously worked - Additional services forecasted for the City of Abilene beyond what has been performed previously i.e., new/modified maps and the features they represent - And a slight reduction in Water Utilities needs from $225,000 to $180,000

Bastiat Liberty & Property Rights Analysis

This motion is scored as EXPANDS_GOVERNMENT (Impact Weight: 2.9/10).
