Carole Clarke - Ms. Clarke clarified that while she served as a distributor of the bridge survey circulating among residents, she did not create it and no Council Members were involved. She noted the survey was distributed via social media to residents over the age of 18 within ZIP code 76052, with information from NCTCOG documentation and Council meeting presentations. Of the 835 verified respondents, 257 were Haslet residents (174 favoring the short bridge, 72 the long bridge, and 11 undecided), and 578 were Fort Worth residents (391 favoring the short bridge, 158 the long bridge, and 29 undecided). Results were shared with the City Administrator, the Mayor, the City Attorney, and NCTCOG. Additionally, Ms. Clarke expressed her appreciation to the Council for their thorough review of the proposed Fiscal Year 2026-2027 budget at the August 1, 2026, budget workshop. Kitty Wurtz - Ms. Wurtz commended the City Council for their focus and composure during the Agenda Item #6.6.A. City of Haslet City Council Meeting Minutes August 3, 2026 August 1, 2026, budget workshop. Ms. Wurtz also expressed concern regarding social media posts alleging that the Mayor has been negotiating with developers regarding warehouse development within the city, specifically referencing a proposed development of over one million square feet on the west side of the City, and encouraged residents to become informed and engaged in City matters. Christine Gross (Email) - Ms. Gross addressed the Council in strong opposition to any zoning changes, permits, or approvals that would allow data centers to be built within or near residential areas in Haslet. Ms. Gross expressed concern regarding noise pollution, potential impacts on residential property values, strain on water and electricity resources, and minimal long-term job creation, and urged the Council to reject any data center proposals near residential zones.
