The vendor advised that Cradlepoint units they had worked with previously already had the required GPIO cable installed; however, the City’s existing units did not.

The additional work includes the required cables and installation necessary to complete the emergency vehicle integration as originally intended.

Staff worked with CTC to verify the actual number of vehicles requiring installation and reduce the additional cost. Four vehicles currently at the upfitters will have the required equipment installed there, reducing CTC’s installation scope. CTC also adjusted the installation charges and applied a $12,600 credit for unused vehicle licenses.

The resulting additional cost has been reduced to $5,712, consisting of installation labor and 24 Cradlepoint R1900 GPIO cables, less the license credit.

The original approved quote and the revised additional quote are included in the agenda item for Council’s review.

Approval will allow the existing purchase order to be adjusted and the project to proceed to completion.
