Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

A resident wrote in to let us know about her experience with her granddaughter at City Hall. After a day at the park, the resident's granddaughter wanted to come inside City Hall to see what it was like and what happened inside. They met Meg with the Parks and Recreation Department and she took the time to give them a tour of the building and explain the different departments and what they were responsible for. They both thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciated the time Meg took with them to show them everything and answer their questions. Meg also received nominations from co-workers that highlighted how she goes out of her way for staff routinely. Meg is the Office Manager for the Parks and Recreation Department and has worked for the City since 2019.

Meg's actions certainly exemplify the attributes of the Five Star Spirit Award: being Courteous, Competent, Reliable, Professional, and Enthusiastic. We congratulate her on being the recipient of the Five Star Spirit Award and thank her for her service to our citizens!

Bastiat Liberty & Property Rights Analysis

This motion is scored as EXPANDS_GOVERNMENT (Impact Weight: 2.1/10). Under the Bastiat Liberty Watchdog Index, measures that increase tax rates or fee schedules, issue new debt or Certificates of Obligation, expand regulatory/zoning restrictions on private land use, or authorize unbudgeted spending expansions reduce an official's Freedom Score when voted YES (and reward dissenting NO votes).
