Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

DISTRICT CYBERSECURITY Director Bryan Pershall presented and reviewed a summary of a report from Clarity Consulting Corporation (Clarity) regarding cybersecurity vulnerabilities at the District’s water plants. Clarity is recommending installation of equipment to monitor Internet communication traffic with the surveillance equipment at the water plants, and also with the existing SCADA system. Clarity is proposing to install and maintain the equipment for three years at $5000 per year. Operator Charles Townsend noted that the SCADA system will be decommissioned after the new water feed from the Regional Water Authority becomes operational. After discussion, upon motion by Mr. Armand, seconded by Mr. Whisler, and unanimously carried, the board authorized Mr. Pershall to review and approve appropriate cybersecurity arrangements for the District with Clarity.
