Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

ENGINEER REPORT Crystal Swink of IDS Engineering Group (“IDS”), the District's engineers, presented their monthly engineer's status reports for the District and the wastewater treatment plant. She reviewed the reports with the board and responded to questions. Ms. Swink reviewed correspondence received from the North Harris County Regional Water Authority regarding their transition to electronic metering at the groundwater wells within their Groundwater Reduction Plan, which includes the District’s well. Ms. Swink reviewed options to take wastewater from the proposed Orchid Homes project on Stuebner Airline, and possibly also from the Stuebner Hollow subdivision, to Heatherloch MUD. The Heatherloch board is open to the idea of a wastewater treatment agreement between the districts and has requested a $10,000 deposit for a feasibility study. They are also asking that the emergency interconnect between the districts be reinstated. After review and discussion, upon motion by Mr. Whisler, seconded by Mr. Pershall, and unanimously carried, the board authorized the requested $10,000 deposit and confirmed Bammel’s willingness to reinstate the emergency interconnect with Heatherloch. It was noted that the recently reported high flows at the wastewater treatment plant have returned to normal after recalibration of the effluent weir flow recorder at the plant. Upon motion by Mr. Whisler, seconded by Mr. Pershall, and unanimously carried, the board approved the engineer's report.
