Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

Heather Van Dine has been selected for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Texas Region Leader Development Program. The competitive program brings together emerging leaders from public agencies and the architecture, engineering, and construction industry across Texas for an intensive leadership development program. The program includes leadership and team development, mentoring by senior professionals, facilitated discussions, and collaboration with a cohort representing organizations throughout the state. The Texas Region program was developed from established SAME leadership programs focused on preparing professionals for increasing leadership responsibilities within their organizations and the A/E/C profession. Heather’s selection provides an opportunity to further develop her leadership capabilities while building relationships with public- and private-sector infrastructure professionals across Texas.

This motion is scored as EXPANDS_GOVERNMENT (Impact Weight: 2.3/10). Under the Bastiat Liberty Watchdog Index, measures that increase tax rates or fee schedules, issue new debt or Certificates of Obligation, expand regulatory/zoning restrictions on private land use, or authorize unbudgeted spending expansions reduce an official's Freedom Score when voted YES (and reward dissenting NO votes).
