Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

National Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Week recognizes the valuable contributions of trained volunteers who assist their communities before, during, and after emergencies. Through specialized training in disaster preparedness, fire safety, light search and rescue, disaster medical operations, and team organization, CERT members enhance the community's ability to respond when emergencies occur. The Rowlett CERT program is comprised of dedicated volunteers who support the Fire Department through emergency preparedness education, public outreach, special events, and assistance during incidents when requested. Their commitment to serving others helps build a more resilient and prepared community while fostering partnerships between residents and first responders. Recognizing National CERT Week provides an opportunity for the City of Rowlett to express its appreciation for the volunteers who generously donate their time, talents, and skills to help protect the community and promote emergency preparedness.
