Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

The Council appoints citizen volunteers to serve on Town boards, commissions or committees. Appointees serve until they are either replaced or reappointed. Interested applicants are required to complete an application and specify the board, commission or committee they wish to serve on and provide background information relevant to their application. Information regarding the responsibilities of each board, commission and committee are published in the Fairview Town News magazine and on the Town’s website, encouraging residents to apply for these positions. It is the policy of the Council that appointees will generally serve no more than six consecutive years in one position and will generally only serve on one board, commission or committee at a time. The Council established that this policy may not necessarily be applied when it determines that an individual’s expertise or the specific needs of the board, commission or committee warrant continued or additional service.
