Consider action to approve an Interlocal Agreement for pavement striping between Tarrant County and the City of Watauga.

Tarrant County offers a program supporting cities with roadway striping. As part of this program, Tarrant County provides the equipment and labor required to perform roadway striping. The City must provide the plan and reimburse the labor and material costs to the county. This is the first time Tarrant County has included labor cost and the City was not notified of the change until July 2026. The Public Works Department utilized this Interlocal Program in recent years with excellent results. The Public Works Department would like to take advantage of this program once again for the following locations: 1. Chapman Rd – Rufe Snow to Denton Hwy 2. Whitley Rd – Watauga Rd to Starnes 3. Indian Springs – Starnes to Bursey 4. Patsy Lane – Watauga Rd to Chapman 5. Watauga Rd – Rufe Snow to Denton Hwy 6. Starnes Rd. - Rufe Snow to Denton Hwy 7. North Park Dr.- Rufe Snow to Denton Hwy 8. Hightower Dr – Rufe Snow to Denton Hwy 9. Bursey Rd – Rufe Snow to Denton Hwy. The Interlocal Cooperation Contracts Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code provides legal authority for the parties to enter into this agreement. Upon City Council approval, Tarrant County shall consider the Interlocal Agreement at their Commissioners Court. If approved, Tarrant County will plan and coordinate the work. The planning phase usually takes several months.
