Mr. Benefiel reported to the Board on the projects. Mr. Benefiel stated that they are waiting for dry weather to install the new sluice gates. The new plastic material was discussed a little regarding the benefits of using it, longevity of the material verses rock, and the aesthetics of it. The results of why the fish were dying was discussed a little, with the findings that due to the hot weather, and now circulation of water, the fish died of low oxygen, which is a part of nature. Ms. Amanda Hill and Ms. Adriana Cruz were in attendance for Three Box. Ms. Hill passed out to the Board a Community Engagement Update sheet. The Board discussed several of the topics and decided in which direction they would like to focus on. One of the topics that was discussed was the high school students interested in pursuing engineering and related fields, possibly a CTE Practicum site, a mentorship of a senior CTE student.
