Staff Report & Agenda Item Details
The proposed Planned Development for The Canals at The Reserve has been the subject of multiple meetings and ongoing coordination between the applicant and City staff. The Planning and Zoning Commission considered the request on July 28 and August 6, 2026. The City Council subsequently discussed the project during its August 10, 2026 meeting, including a work session addressing the overall development framework and proposed PD standards. At that meeting, the City Council tabled consideration of the first reading to August 24, 2026, without opening the public hearing. Since that time, staff and the applicant have continued to work through revisions to the proposed development standards and related exhibits. Stillwater Capital has submitted the attached written request that consideration of the zoning case be tabled indefinitely to allow additional time to evaluate and refine the proposal. Staff recommends honoring the applicant’s request and taking no further action on the zoning case at this time. When the applicant elects to move the request forward at a later date, the item will be scheduled for a future City Council meeting and readvertised in accordance with applicable public hearing and notification requirements before further consideration.
