HB 2 Reading Fluency Tests Presenter: Jaime Miller Description: Early Literacy and Dyslexia Screening - Grades K-2 Snyder ISD will review the state requirements for early literacy and dyslexia screening for students in Kindergarten through Grade 2. Kindergarten students will continue to be assessed using mCLASS as required by the Texas Education Agency. For Grades 1-2, Snyder ISD is recommending the use of NWEA MAP Reading Fluency as the district’s early literacy assessment and applicable dyslexia screening tool. This recommendation reflects teacher input, reduces duplicate testing, provides consistent data for instructional decision-making, and supports early identification and intervention for students experiencing reading difficulties.
