Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

Assess the progress to determine BMP’s effectiveness in achieving the benchmark. Benchmark Indicator Description/Comments Increase in Recycling Programs/Trash Clean-Up Events and Public Participation Five (5) environmental events were conducted in Permit Year 2. Approximately 75 bags of trash were properly disposed from three “Trash-Off” events and 2,557 pounds of electronics were recycled from one Electronic Recycling Event. The City also held one Paper Shredding Event. By removing these items from landfills, this assisted in reducing impairments caused by bacteria and dissolved oxygen in the MS4 and local waterways. Number of Educational Materials Distributed to members of the Community A total of 62,421 educational print material and water bill inserts were handed out to residents during Permit Year 2. Reporting Illicit Discharges A total of three (3) reports of illicit discharges were reported during Permit Year 2. All complaints were documented, directed to the appropriate individuals, and addressed. Proper actions were conducted in a timely manner, as needed. Mileage of Street Swept The City swept approximately 1,490 miles of major collector roadways within their jurisdiction in Permit Year
