Donald Alan Stephenson: 20 Years Alan Stephenson began his career with the San Antonio River Authority on April 3, 2006, starting as a Park Specialist supporting operations at Calaveras Lake and Braunig Lake Parks. In this role, Alan quickly became a valuable team member, contributing to daily park management and visitor services while building a strong foundation in park operations. As the River Authority transitioned away from lake park management, Alan seamlessly adapted to the organizational shift, moving into the Nature Based Parks program. His efforts were instrumental in helping open Branch and Helton Nature Based Parks to the public. In 2015, Alan embraced a new challenge by transferring to the Mission Reach team as a Landscape Technician I, where he continued to apply and grow his expertise in vegetation management. In 2019 he was promoted to Landscape Technician II, a role he continues to serve in today. Over the past 20 years, Alan’s adaptability, institutional knowledge, and dedication have made a lasting impact across multiple programs and parks. His career reflects a strong commitment to public service and environmental stewardship. Outside of work, Alan enjoys spending his time golfing, fishing, and hunting. He is also a longtime and dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan, staying loyal to his team year after year. Congratulations, Alan, on 20 years of outstanding service. Thank you for your continued contributions to the River Authority and the communities we serve.
