3.G. Discuss and Consider Action on the Purchase of Insurance Coverage:  Property/Casualty and Workers Comp Presenter: Amanda Smith, Chief Financial Officer; Dr. Dana Arreola, Superintendent of Schools Description: Administration has received the renewal proposal for insurance from LaVernia Agency.  Both Insurance packages are currently with Texas Policital Subdivisions (TPS) and administration recommends the renewals be approved. A comparison between the current year and next year's property and casualty insurance deductibles and premiums  has been included in the attachments. The renewal for workers comp coverage through TPS (our current provider) was also received at an annual premium of $87,749 (last year: $87,907). Per CH (Local), the Board retains the authority to approve any single expenditure over $75,000.

Bastiat Liberty & Property Rights Analysis

This motion is scored as EXPANDS_GOVERNMENT (Impact Weight: 6.5/10). Under the Bastiat Liberty Watchdog Index, measures that increase tax rates or fee schedules, issue new debt or Certificates of Obligation, expand regulatory/zoning restrictions on private land use, or authorize unbudgeted spending expansions reduce an official's Freedom Score when voted YES (and reward dissenting NO votes).
