IX.B. Consideration and Possible Action Regarding the Delivery Method of Construction Services Pursuant to Texas Government Code Ch. 2269 for the Agricultural Facility Renovation Project Presenter: Rick Kirkpatrick Description: The meat market has extensive moisture issues caused by a lack of a de-humidification system and failed seals in the 27 year old freezer and coolers, as well as the thermal insulation in the walls. As a result, moisture is present in the walls, electric conduits, and lights which is not safe. Because of the extensive nature of the remodel and the long lead times for a new freezer and coolers as well as the insulated wall panels, and after a lengthy discussion with our architect and engineer, I believe a Construction Manager At-Risk provides the best value to the district as the construction contractor will begin work as the final drawings are being prepared so the long-lead items can be ordered as early as possible. The expected completion of this project is Christmas of 2026, and we hope to reopen the meat lab in the Spring semester of 2027. The estimated cost for construction is $1,329,338.00.
