Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

24-13 2024 HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM General Manager Shadden - The Texas Department of Emergency Management came out with some more Grants for the buyouts, winter storms and one other. There is like $220,000,000.00 out there that they are going to hand out to be able to do some stuff with drainage and infrastructure. We have 1 already precured Traylor and Associates as Administrator of the Grant and now we are precuring the engineering service to put together any projects we would like to apply for. We put it out to the public in the paper. We had 5 people that applied for the engineering service and after going through the ratings and everything, since LJA is our engineer of record we are asking you to approve them. There is no money involved when you get into engineering contracts, you hire them and you pay them whatever is costs, so it is not like you can bid it. So, we are hiring them to put some projects together to go after some of this money. Director Nicely made a Motion to approve awarding by Resolution 24-13, a contract for engineering services pertaining to the application of implementation, if awarded, of the district’s 2024 Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) projects from the Texas Division of Emergency Management and authorizing the execution of a contract. The motion was seconded by Director Rayburn and it passed by unanimous vote.
