ENTERING INTO A JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT WITH CHAMBERS COUNTY FOR NOVEMBER 3,
Official Roll-Call Vote
Staff Report & Agenda Item Details
ENTERING INTO A JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT WITH CHAMBERS COUNTY FOR NOVEMBER 3, 2026 General Manager Shadden — Long time ago we used to do our own elections to where people would come to the office and vote and everything. The legislature got together and said two people have to do it, either school district or the county or everybody has to do something. Anyway, we decided to go with Chambers County. So, they actually do all of the election for us and everything else. It works out pretty good. You can go to any precinct that they have, whether it's in Mount Bellevue and if you live in our district, you can vote over there if you need to or whatever. President Caraway - They charge us a little something to do that, don't they? General Manager Shadden - Yes, they charge us a fee to do the election. Luckily, we didn't have to do one last year because nobody put in to run against Greg. President Caraway - Or the year before. General Manager Shadden - Or the year before so we haven't had to do one in a while. Anyway, this is boilerplate, that way if somebody does apply, we're set up with the County to get our stuff done. Vice President Nicely made a Motion to approve entering into a Joint Election Agreement with Chambers County for November 3, 2026, Election for Precincts 1 and 3. The motion was seconded by Director Woody, and it passed by unanimous vote.
