Staff Report & Agenda Item Details

The San Antonio River Authority requested proposals from dealerships to provide fleet vehicles for budgeted replacements. Staff sought to purchase five (5) trucks, one (1) Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), and one (1) sedan. Proposals were received, and no bids were received for the sedan. In lieu of the sedan, staff is recommending the purchase of a second SUV. While the solicitation was on the market, two trucks were damaged in accidents. Staff is recommending the purchase of two additional trucks to replace the damaged units. In October 2025, staff issued a request for proposal (RFP) for vehicles and three (3) proposals were received. An evaluation team reviewed the responses and ranked the firms in order of their evaluated scores, providing the best value. Staff is recommending the award of a contract to Gunn Chevrolet and Red McCombs Ford as shown in Attachment A. The contracts have an estimated value greater than $150,000 over the contract term and requires Board approval.
