The Westside Creeks Program (0850) is a collection of several projects related to ecological restoration and recreational enhancement of Alazan Creek, Apache Creek, San Pedro Creek and Martinez Creek. Current activities in these projects include environmental remediation of a contaminated soils site, extensive real estate transactions, design of instream restoration and design of recreational features. There are several funding sources for these projects, including the majority of funding coming from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, matching funds from Bexar County, and remediation funds from the City of San Antonio. After the completion of this program, the San Antonio River Authority intends to operate the restoration and recreational features. This briefing will review the current status of these projects, upcoming milestones, upcoming community engagement, current active issues and budget status.
