Briefing Regarding Otilla Dam Modification Project Updates

Otilla Dam was built in 1911 and sits on the San Antonio River Authority’s (River Authority) 351-acre Trueheart Ranch Nature Park. In 2024, the River Authority secured a $1 million grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFW) to remove or modify Otilla Dam as part of the National Fish Passage Program. The USFW grant will fund the implementation of a dam modification with a focus on fish passage and recreational and educational opportunities. This update will provide an overview of Otilla Dam and the modification project activities.
